| | Name: | Joseph Langan | | Age: | 24 | | Home/Sponsoring Parish: | St. John, Westminster | | Year in Seminary: | First Theology | | Seminary: | Pontifical North American College, Rome | | Degrees Held/Institution: | BA, St. Andrew's Hall College Seminary, Seton Hall University | | Previous Career: | None | | Hobbies/Interests: | Writing fiction, drawing, reading everything from fiction to philosophy and theology, domestic and foreign movies, history, particularly ancient and medieval, and just about every kind of music | | | | Reason for Applying: I applied because I simply had to know if the priesthood was the path that I ought to take. It had been bugging me on and off for years, and when I finally finished up my AA, I found myself at a crossroads. I just needed to see for sure if this was right for me. So far, so good. What does the priesthood mean to you: In a nutshell, the Priesthood, to me, means service. But I don’t mean service in a basic way. I mean service in the sense of an intense spending of oneself for the supernatural and spiritual needs of others—the service of charity. It means modeling myself after Christ by being a bridge between God and humanity. It is a tall order, but one I hope dearly that God will give me the grace to fulfill. |
